Airline Baggage Agreement

The interline is when flights are mixed from different airline codes in the PNR route. In this case, the ITA table is checked. This is one of the biggest headaches travellers sometimes face: even if Interline agreements exist and the airline, like Z. F. United, can let luggage pass on a separate ticket, baggage screening on separate tickets is left to the discretion of the check-in desk. I always recommend coming to the airport early to make sure you have a clear printed copy of your flight ticket, including the ticket number, and be polite and friendly with the agent. In the cases listed below, if more than one ticket is presented, Delta will continue to check the baggage from the original to the final destination. Note that US Airways, Hawaiian and low-cost airlines like Southwest do NOT check baggage when travelling with separate tickets. You must pay all the fees due for checked baggage and collect your luggage before checking it again with your passenger. Therefore, if your next flight is with a non-oneworld airline, you must pick up your baggage in your destination city AA and check it again with your next airline. And unfortunately, this includes (upated: oneworld Airlines) and the airlines with which AA collaborates, but which are not oneworld partner airlines, such as Etihad Airways, Alaska Airlines, Air Tahiti Nui.

So if you are booked on a JFK Etihad flight, but you live in Miami and book a separate ticket on American because there is no storage space for the allocation of savers, you must pick up the luggage at JFK and check it again at Etihad. Flyertalker Oxymore notes in April 2014 that not so long ago, a Delta agent left Delta`s luggage at Air France on separate tickets, allowing you to check in with a Skyteam partner and get a nice agent -YMMV. What you wrote in the block and in 3 are not the same. Don`t be snarky, but we read – we often get such a question – someone else did it or did it. Unless there is an official policy — as GOPBI says or flight agreements — it is only the happiness of the draw. In code-sharing and operational carrier situations, flight segments have the same code as the validating carrier, but are operated by other airlines. The ITA table is verified between the validating airline and the airline defined in DEI50. Note: DEI50 is an SSIM message that refers to comments posted in a Flight Information Entry (DO). 50 Duplicate Leg Cross Reference – Operation Leg Identification is the marketing carrier`s commentary indicating the operating flight number. Choosing to take the airline for your location flight can make the difference between an almost seamless connection or a feeling of already seen, where you have to do the entire airport check-in process again. This means you have to land, go to the baggage locker, pick up your luggage, return to the departure lane, re-check your luggage and return for security. If your international flight departs from a major airport such as JFK, LAX or O`Hare, you must also take a train between the terminals and all your luggage (unless you cannot yet do so at O`Hare).

Also note that just because United can check baggage with airlines (including non-Star Alliance airlines) with which they have an Interline agreement does not mean they will do so if you are travelling with separate tickets. As mentioned above, it is based on the discretion of agents, and some agents are not as familiar with the procedure as properly checking luggage on separate tickets, so you will say it cannot be done.
